nothin’ but trouble…

It seems like the things that make our life the most lavish and comfortable also cause us the most trouble and frustration at times.

I’m getting ready to go to LA to Godchicks for a few days, and I noticed we are out of coffee at home.  I must get to Starbucks.  What would my husband do without his morning coffee while I’m gone?  Would he send our youngest son to go buy some?  What if he bought whole beans and didn’t have it ground?  Oh my goodness, would his world unravel?   He loves the luxury of fresh ground Starbucks coffee, but does he have any idea the nonsense I go through to get it?

My friend Melanie just got her new iPhone.   When they hooked it up however, all her husband’s contact information was installed on it instead of her own, so she had no information for anyone she wanted to call or email or text.  She was so frustrated.  That phone is certainly a luxury, but what a pain, if it doesn’t work the way it should.

Last week my computer had a power surge of some sort and I lost the hard drive.  Every vacation photo, every song, every document, gone.  What a horrific thing to happen to our family computer.  It was designed to make our lives better, but for the moment it’s presenting nothing but problems.

John 16:33 says, “In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.”  No matter what problems we experience in our modern society, He remains constant, steady, and unchanging.  Whew!  What a relief!  I can turn to Him to be my friend.  To be my confidant, to be my provider, to be my healer, to be my savior, to be my personal God!  When my day fills with nothin’ but trouble, He is nothin’ but everything I need.

Good morning ladies. I just read “nothin but trouble” and had to laugh at the coffee thing because all my children know if mom doesn’t have her coffee in the morning, someone is going to get in trouble. I love the way God has worked in my life and put me in touch with so many wonderful women. Instead of getting up every morning wondering what my day is going to be like, I wonder and pray a thanks to God about the great women at CCC. I hope all of you have your morning coffee, tea, soft drink knowing God loves you and has only good things in store for you.

Also, all of you going to LA for God Chicks, I pray a safe return for all of you and that you make new friends and re connect with old friends.

    God Bless you all
