yes i believe that a lot of people perserve us christains as hypocrisy because are christian walk are selfs are not stable so we stray away from the truth of our own christianity we pray on the week some times as christian no all christian but some of us christian get on the weak that are not truely saved and instead of blessing them with your salvation you condem those because you feel that if you are in sin that makes them you less then you are but you forget that you as a christian were once in sin and the same word that saved you should be taught to save them so stay true to his word christians and live righteous because remeber we are all cover by gods grace which is sufficient forever and ever

Wow. If that doesn't just feel overwhelming... Jesus has made it painfully clear that hypocrisy is repulsive to him in that passage, and that those who lead with hypocrisy are doomed to hell, as are those who follow them.

Hypocrisy as Jesus has defined it: "But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach." (vs 3) How often do I not practice what I preach?

I think the biggest way I practice hypocrisy, and it is a practice, is in identifying hypocrisy in others, especially those who I see outside of church. It's incredibly easy for me to say - look at the way they talk, look how they gossip, look how they get drunk, look how they teach one way and then go out the next day and do wat they say not to do. Don't they realize how much they are hurting their cause? Don't they see how they are causing others to turn away? How can anyone, especially someone who is "called to the ministry", do that? How dare they!

But I refuse to look at myself - my language, my gossip, my complaining, my anger, my big mouth, my pride, my rebellion, my justifications for sin... my hypocrisy is overwhelming.

It's amazing to me that after so long in church - I mean, since birth is a pretty long time when you are the oldest person in class - I can even think of teaching or trying to help others. How dare I?
